Wave of Words helps children ride the waves of communication through personalized speech therapy services.
We help children find the best way to share their thoughts—whether that’s through a speech-generating device, picture symbols, or a combination of tools. AAC gives your child a voice and the confidence to connect with others.
Our therapy for children with autism is centered around connection, communication, and understanding. We focus on building skills for everyday interactions, social play, and expressing needs in ways that feel natural to your child.
Clear speech makes it easier for your child to be understood and feel confident. We work on pronouncing sounds and words correctly, using fun and engaging activities to make practice feel like play.
Apraxia can make it hard for a child to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech. We use step-by-step, repetitive practice to help words come out more smoothly, making communication easier over time.
Language is more than words—it’s how we connect. We support children in understanding what they hear (receptive language) and in expressing themselves clearly (expressive language), so they can share their ideas, needs, and feelings.
We help children who stutter develop smoother, more confident speech. Therapy addresses both the physical aspects of fluency and the emotional side, helping your child speak with ease in everyday situations.
The first step is a free consultation to learn more about your child and your concerns. This conversation allows us to discuss your child’s communication needs, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether a full evaluation is the best next step.
If an evaluation is recommended, we’ll schedule a comprehensive assessment tailored to your child’s age and needs. This may include parent interviews, observations, and standardized testing to identify strengths and areas for growth. After the evaluation, you’ll receive a detailed report with results and personalized recommendations.
After establishing a treatment plan, we’ll begin one-on-one sessions based on the goals outlined in the evaluation. Therapy is engaging, play-based, and individualized to support your child’s progress. We’ll also provide regular updates and collaborate with you along the way to ensure consistent support across settings.

Sydney started Wave of Words to create a space where families feel supported, therapy feels playful and effective, and every child is celebrated for exactly who they are. As a mom and a beach lover, she knows the value of calm, connection, and finding joy in the little moments—values that guide her approach to working with children and families every day.
